THE ACTIVATORS DO
1) FIND THE PEAK
contains a listing of the SOTA peaks and rules for the Association; the main SOTA web site contains the same information.
2) POST ALERT
ahead of time gives you the best chance of making the four contacts (QSOs) necessary for you to earn points – so a few days before an alert Post. thus everyone can see early on where you are, when and on what frequency

3) POST SPOT
On the mountaintop and when your equipment is ready for SOTA-QSO then, post a SPOT. This lets the Chasers know when and where (on which frequency) you’ll be on the air. thats it 😉
4) REPORT YOUR QSO
Activators appreciate being SPOTTED because this increases their chances of a successful activation.
